Downey Street Events was started by Lauren Geissler and Emily de Ayora, two best friends who met while attending Stanford Law School. Although they both spent a lot of their time planning various events, they didn’t consider turning event planning into a career. Instead, their talents manifested themselves in elegant dinner parties, elaborately painted Christmas cookies, and meticulously run fundraisers and campaigns.

UNTIL 2008…

While working at prestigious law firms in the Bay Area, Lauren and Emily planned and designed Lauren’s wedding. Their artistic talents were awakened, and they saw how they could apply a lawyer’s honed negotiation tactics and organizational skills to the planning process! Downey Street Events was born, and booked a full schedule of events within the first several months of business.
