Principal Planner & Designer
Originally from San Diego, Cassandra traded in a “beachy” suburban lifestyle for the hustle and bustle of the City by the Bay in 2000. She studied hospitality management at University of San Francisco (go Dons!) where her interest in food, wine and events was ignited. The hospitality program exposed her to some of San Francisco’s premier chefs, hotel proprietors, & restaurateurs. She headed committees for the program’s major events, including the Annual Hospitality Symposium where Chip Conley, CEO of Joie de Vivre Hospitality group, was the keynote speaker.
After graduation, Cassandra joined Conde Nast Publications where she gained an eye for fashion and design while working at the iconic publications, Vogue and Architectural Digest. Cassandra honed her skills servicing clients, planning business trips for media mavens and solving problems quickly on tight deadlines. As much as she enjoyed the fast paced advertising world, she knew that her passion lived in the events industry.
In 2009, she joined Living Room Events Catering, a boutique firm committed to sustainable food delivered in a refined and finished style. As their wedding specialist, Cassandra was involved with menu planning, stationary selection for menus, escort cards, & table numbers, and design elements including lighting, linens, décor & place settings.
But her experience doesn’t just stop with weddings! Cassandra has led hundreds of events ranging from Banana Republic retail events to the Wine Spectator’s Top 100 Wines celebration for 800 guests. From an Oracle World bicycle race hosted by Lance Armstrong to gallery openings, private holiday parties, and fundraisers—Cassandra has done it all!
Cassandra teamed up with Downey Street Events in 2011 and within one month, had booked a full season of weddings. Because of her hospitality background, Cassandra places a strong emphasis on providing superior service to her clients and with her partnered vendors. She treats every wedding like she would host her own (which was recently featured in 7×7’s 2010 Wedding Resource Guide!). In addition, Cassandra brings her sense of style, attention to detail, fast-on-her-feet problem solving, and boundless energy to the team—she loves being a wedding planner!
When Cassandra is not planning weddings, you’ll probably see her and her husband cruising their Russian Hill neighborhood, playing bocce ball in Fort Mason, running along Crissy Fields, cheering at a Giants games, or entertaining on their roof deck.
