Lauren Geissler

Creative Director & Principal Planner

Lauren holds a BS degree in Public Policy and Management from University of Southern California where she was elected Student Body Vice President and represented over 15,000 students. As rush chairman of Pi Beta Phi sorority Lauren planned and executed three days of rush events for over 500 participants. An avid lover of all things creative, Lauren also took classes in film, opera, art and sculpture. In her spare time, Lauren worked in the surrounding community and created a grant-winning program enabling local homeless women to receive tutoring to pass their high school equivalency exams. In 2003, Lauren graduated with honors and was awarded the Emory Olson Award for Most Outstanding Senior.

After USC Lauren attended Stanford Law School. While at Stanford Lauren acted as a Vice President of the Stanford Public Interest Law Foundation and planned several fundraisers on campus, most notably the Lawyer of the Year Gala. During her first summer of law school Lauren won a prestigious position as an extern at the New York District Attorney’s Office where she second chaired felony criminal cases. Loving the courtroom, Lauren later secured a semester long internship at the San Francisco District Attorney’s office where she was able to first chair misdemeanor trials.

After graduating from Stanford Law, Lauren took a position with one of the premier litigation firms in the country where she represented high-profile corporate clients in federal and state court for three years. Lauren excelled quickly, developing a reputation as an obsessively organized team-builder who could be trusted to orchestrate and lead large trial teams. While she loved working at her law firm, Lauren missed using her creative talents and suffered from an unquenchable desire to be an entrepreneur. So, in her spare time, she planned weddings and events for friends until 2009 when she finally left the firm to follow her dreams and open Downey Street Events. Downey Street Events booked a full schedule of events within the first several months of business and received editorial coverage in three prestigious wedding blogs within the first year.  Lauren absolutely loves what she does and cannot believe she gets paid to do it.

Lauren lives in Noe Valley with her husband Joe, their son Jack, and their daughter Georgia.  She loves finding the perfect Meyer lemon at the farmer’s market, listening to Jack and Georgia’s baby giggles, dreaming up house renovation ideas, eating a bowl of spaghetti at Delfina, and cooking Sunday night family dinners.  She is a regular at Frances, Coffeebar, Soulcycle, and the shoe department of Neiman Marcus.  She still cries watching father daughter dances at weddings.
